Moving into the new year and a new Biden administration, the U.S. Government is making ambitious goals for energy efficiency and clean energy. Combined with the recent federal spending bill and Biden’s Sustainable Infrastructure and Clean Energy plan, data center operators and facility managers across the country can look forward to an increased push for renewable energy, improved equipment standards, and better overall data center efficiency guidelines.
Part of the spending bill passed into law on December 27 is the establishment of a Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) program, which will certify experts in the data center efficiency space. Here at Enabled Energy, we are proud that all of our Development, Technical, and Delivery team members have already received their DCEP certifications, which is the only data center training certificate issued under the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Federal Energy Management Program in conjunction with a training program developed by Lawrence Berkley National Labs (LBNL).
Moving forward, we’re hopeful that these government initiatives will move all data centers toward energy efficiency and energy savings. If you’re interested in our team’s DCEP certifications or how Enabled Energy can help your data center, please contact us at 303.761.9890.
