Energy Savings Incentives: Spotlight on Oregon 2500 1666 Enabled Energy

Many of Enabled Energy’s clients are located in or around the Portland, Oregon area. As mentioned in Data Center Frontier’s recent article (Hillsboro’s Rising Profile Reflects Hyperscale Shift to Regional Markets | Data Center Frontier), Hillsboro, OR is becoming one of the fastest growing regional markets.

Retrofit projects in this area have historically had great paybacks, partially due to the incentives provided by the Energy Trust of Oregon. “Energy Trust is dedicated to helping 2 million utility customers in Oregon save energy and benefit from renewable power, today and in the future.”

Their service area surrounds the major cities in the state as shown in the map below.

Enabled Energy (EE) has partnered with Energy Trust for over 5 years to put together energy saving projects with very low paybacks. Typical retrofit projects with utility rebates can plan on offsetting the cost of the project by 20-40%. However, EE has historically experienced higher than average incentives in the State of Oregon. A great example is the impact a recent project made by retrofitting 21 existing CRAH units with EC Fans. The payback on this project was less than 8 months. More details of this project can be found here: Hillsboro Retrofit Amplifies Impact with Quick Payback.

In addition to Energy Trust, there are other local utilities in OR that offer incentives for retrofitting data centers facilities.  If you have a project in Oregon this year, let us help you put together the best project to meet your energy goals, administer the rebates, and lower your project’s overall payback.
